RAR Architectural Services is run by Alistair Oliver, an architectural technologist based in Gateshead, working with homeowners across Newcastle, Northumberland, County Durham and Teesside.

Extensions and remodelling are technical problems more than conceptual ones. The value is in an accurate survey, buildable detailing and getting through planning and Building Regulations without delays or surprises — which is what an architectural technologist specialises in.

Alistair holds a BEng in Mechanical and Architectural Engineering and works as a Senior BIM Coordinator on large-scale commercial developments. That means your extension is detailed to the same standard as commercial construction, and the thermal, ventilation and overheating requirements are designed in from the start rather than patched at building control stage.

Every project starts with a free consultation and a fixed fee quoted in writing. If your project falls under permitted development, we'll tell you before you spend anything on an application you may not need.
